Hey there! My name is Kevin Shen, and I'm a current mechanical engineering student at MIT seeking industry internship opportunities.
Growing up in Olympia, Washington, I found my passion for mechanical engineering by building and flying model airplanes.
In high school, my designs became more advanced and experimental, and I began teaching myself mechanical design, control theory, circuit board design, programming, and other skills to bring my ideas to life. I also began submitting my projects to competitions and conferences.
I'm currently part of MIT Motorsports, where I am helping develop control algorithms and physics-based simulations for our Formula SAE Electric race car.
Outside of science and engineering, I'm also a tennis player, a viola player, and a member of the MIT Asian Dance Team.
Me as a kid assembling an airplane, where it all started.
